Betty J Brooks

Graveside services for Betty J. Brooks, 67, of Gladewater, will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at West Mountain Cemetery with Reverend Roger Gage officiating. Betty passed Friday, May 30, 2014 in Longview, Texas. Betty was born in Gladewater, Texas to Raymond and Ruby Meadows on November 4, 1946. She was a primary school teacher until she retired. Betty was a Baptist and a lifetime resident of Gladewater. Surviving Mrs. Brooks are her sons: Monty Gage of Ft. Worth, Texas, Malcolm Gage and wife Lois of Tennessee, Lewis Bubba Brooks IV and wife Omega; Sister Belinda West of Hawkins, Texas; and her very dear friend Linda Brown. There are also four grandchildren and one great grandchild who will miss her as well: Malory and Justin Roland of Longview, Morgan and Logan Brooks of Gladewater, Savannah Gage of Tennessee and Chander Roland. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Lewis Wilson Brooks III, grandson Mason Gage and brothers Lavoy and Lavon Meadows. Mrs. Brooks will lie in state beginning Sunday at 2 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater so that friends and family may come by to pay their respects, no formal visitation time will be set.
