Bessie Rachel Smith

Graveside services for Mrs. Bessie Rachel Smith, 91, of Gilmer will be held 2:00 P.M, Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Enon Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas with Bro. Charles Johnson and Bro. Jimmy Rogers officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. She was born October, 3, 1918 in Upshur County, Texas to Otis V. Pool and Ruby Ann Davis Pool. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Rosewood Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Nancy Smith of Mt. Vernon, Larry and Lana Smith of Rosewood, Donald Smith of Big Sandy; Brothers, George Pool, Moody Pool and Paul Pool all of Gilmer; sister, Audrey Smith of Gilmer; 12 grandchildren, Jerry Smith Jr, Scott Smith, Susan Lee, Donya Barker, Stacey Tenery, Julie Williams, Teresa Smith, Paul Smith, Jory Morris, Tina Phillips, Bobby Smith, and Donna Smith, 20 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Thurman W. Smith in 1975. Pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Jerry Smith Jr, Bobby Ray Smith, Paul Smith, Johnny Ray Morris, and Corey Ray Morris. Family will receive friends Friday, March 12, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M at the funeral home.
