Services for Bessie Mae Cavitt, 93, of Ore City, will be held 2:00 PM Monday, March 13, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Ore City, with Rev. James Gray and Rev. Pat Shannon officiating. Interment will follow at Coffeeville Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the servie at the church.
Bessie was born July 5, 1923, in Upshur County, Texas, to George and Zou Johnston Murrell. She worked for many years as a nurse before retirement. Bessie was a member of First Baptist Church of Ore City. She served for her family, church, community and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodie Cavitt; a son, Mike Cavitt; and her siblings.
Bessie is survived by a daughter: Gail Modisette and Charlie Ritter; 3 grandchildren: Traci Buckner and grandson-in-law, Wayne, Todd Turner, Ryan Cavitt; 4 great grandchildren: Chance Buckner, Trace Buckner, Brittanie Coppedge, Whittney Turner; and a host of friends and church family.
