Ben Stoner

Services for Ben Stoner, 87, of Gilmer will be held Monday, February 4, 2019, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Mr. Stoner passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019, a home.
Ben was born January 7, 1932, in Bowie, Texas to Robert Benjamin and Ester Viola Bowers Stoner. He worked for Continental Can Corporation for over 40 years before retirement. Ben served in the Army, and was active while working with SOAR.
Mr. Stoner was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 64 years, Pat; a son, Steven Stoner; brothers, Jasper Lee Stoner Clarence Clinton Stoner; sisters, Ellen Jeneatta Bowers and Mary Esther Salas.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Dora Stoner of Gilmer; brothers, James Stoner of Splendora, Johnnie Ray Marques of Pasadena; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, prior to the service.
