Barbara Ruth Boone

Barbara Ruth Boone, a long-time resident of the White Oak, Texas, passed way Friday the 2nd of November in her home.

Born November 11, 1954 in Bronte, TX, Barbara moved with her family to White Oak in 1961. After graduating from High School, Barbara attended nursing school at Kilgore College and worked at Good Shepherd Hospital for a short time before finding her true calling working as a mail carrier for the USPS. She made many lasting friendships with both her coworkers and customers on her route during her 30+ year career.

Barbara was a long time member of White Oak United Methodist Church. She spent many happy days laughing, playing cards with her family and friends, and she enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her daughter and grandson.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Amanada Munoz, and grandson, Keelin Munoz. She is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Owens and Mollie Upton, four brothers, Gary Smith, James Smith, Richard Smith, and Steve Terry, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Marlena Terry, her best friend, Rosemary McAlexander, and her brother Mike Terry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the White Oak United Methodist Church, 503 West Center Street, White Oak, TX 75693.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the White Oak United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
