Services for Mrs. Barbara Louise Welsh, 81 of Gilmer will be held 11:00 A.M, Tuesday December 17, 2013, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gilmer with Bishop Jimmy Coulter officiating. Interment will follow at Kelsey Cemetery in Upshur County under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Welsh passed away on Saturday December 14, 2013 in Tyler. She was born January 17, 1932 in Port Arthur, Texas to Jesse Garland and Ona Mae Graham Lyons. She married Johnny Welsh Jr. on February 8, 1952 in Houston, Texas and moved to Gilmer in 1953. Mrs. Welsh was a homemaker and worked alongside Johnny as a retouch artist and assistant for over thirty years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by daughters, Brenda Farris of Bullard and Deborah Welsh; brother, Leonard Lyons of Hemphill; 4 grandchildren, Therese Goodson, Jared Farris, Jansen Farris and Madison Farris. Mrs. Welsh was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Welsh Jr. and great grandchild, Sydney Jane Farris. No formal visitation will be held.
