Barbara Frances Baker

Barbara Frances Baker passed away on October 24, 2024, in Gladewater, Texas, at the age of 88. Barbara had a green thumb and could often be found tending to her garden, delighting in the sight of hummingbirds fluttering nearby.

Looking back, one can recall the joy Barbara found in the simple pleasures of life: the colorful blooms in her garden, the fluttering wings of hummingbirds, and the warm company of friends. She cherished these moments and shared her love for nature and companionship with all who knew her.

In her journey through life, Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Josarah and Flora Watts, her dear husband, Robert "Boe" Baker, sisters Mary Lee Parish and Helen Johnson, brother George Russell Watts, and children James Johnson, Sue Dunn, and Troy Johnson. Despite the hardships she faced, Barbara's spirit remained resilient and steadfast.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth in the hearts of her surviving family: daughters Ann Johnson, Ginger Johnson, and Shirley Baker, sons Robert Johnson and Robert Baker, sisters Martha Mackey and Sandy Bell, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always hold her memory dear.

The family of Barbara would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer from Heart to Heart Hospice and Louise "Lucy" Deckard from Legend Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation for their compassionate care and support during her final days.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held 6:00 PM, Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Gladewater, Texas.

In her passing, Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and adored her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of the gardens she so lovingly tended, and the hummingbirds she so dearly cherished.

She always said everyone deserves a hug, a handshake is good for a fair deal and is quickly forgotten but a good hug last forever.
