Graveside services for Mr. B. J. Porter, Jr.,85, of Gilmer will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January, 29, 2015, at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer with Todd Smith officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home. Mr. Porter, Jr. passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 in Longview. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. He was born on June 18, 1929, in Gilmer to Burrell Jackson Porter, Sr. and Gladys Anderson Porter. Mr. Porter, Jr. served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On October 28, 1954, he married Eva Joyce Patterson in Upshur County, Texas and was an electrician at Lone Star Steel until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Porter; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Marina Porter; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Todd Smith; sister, Mildred Penick; three grandchildren, Shannon Smith, Eric Porter and Meganne Porter.
