Aubrey Milton Johnson

Funeral services for Aubrey Milton Johnson will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2016 at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Chapel in Diana with Glen Manchester officiating. Interment will be in the Old East Mountain Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Aubrey went to be with our Lord, Friday, April 1, 2016. Aubrey was born on May 24, 1928 to Joseph and Tess Johnson. He grew up in East Mountain, TX and lived in Avinger, TX. Aubrey and his wife of 16 years are members of Mims Church of Christ. He loved his church and was a faithful member. Aubrey loved the outdoors. He grew lots of vegetables in his garden and went fishing whenever he got a chance. He was very handy and could fix anything you needed fixed. Aubrey was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Edward and Tess Salter Johnson and son, Joseph Milton Johnson and brother-in-law, Bert Ellis. Aubrey is survived by his wife, Jean; sisters, Wanda Gilliland and husband, Charlie, Mildred Ellis; brother, Bobby Dean Johnson and wife, Dianne; step-son, Roger L. Smith; two step-daughters. His extended family includes many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed and remembered by all his family and friends. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana.
