Aubrey Lesley Price, Jr. Gladewater -- Memorial services for Aubrey Lesley Price, Jr., 71, of Gladewater, will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012, at 11 A.M. at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Welton Jones and Reverend Dick Dobbins officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Born on September 16, 1940, in Gladewater, Texas, he died on Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was a retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel. A 1959 graduate of Gladewater High School, he was a 1964 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (BBA), a 1993 graduate of William Carey College in Hattisburg, Mississippi (BSN), and a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College. He was commissioned in the United States Army in 1964 and served in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany. He served as United States Federal Agent with the Drug Enforcement Agency and Department of Health and Human Services. After graduating from William Carey College with his bachelor"s degree in nursing, he worked as a registered nurse, serving as Hospice Director at North Shore Regional Medical Center in Slidell, Louisiana, for six years. Later he worked at Longview Regional Medical Center until his retirement in 2005. Since his retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed gardening and the company of his cats. He was a member of the Ages and Stages Sunday School Class at the First United Methodist Church in Gladewater. He is survived by his wife, Mary Barr Price; son, David Price; daughter, Phyllis Kane; step-daughter, Lisa Pevey; step-sons, Greg Caskey and Paul Caskey; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Joan Price Hanson and Lorene Price McElroy; and many friends. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. on Monday, April 16, 2012, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
