Arnold Harris, Sr.

Arnold Harris Sr, 81, passed away in Tyler, TX on January 28, 2022. He was born on September 20, 1940 in Kaufman, TX to the late William Arthur and Delia Josephine Lightfoot Harris. His siblings include W.A. Harris, Jr., Melvin Harris, Dubart Harris, Doyle Harris, Clinton Harris, Evelyn Frances Harris Kines and Prebble Lee. Arnold grew up in Kaufman and the Johnson County areas of East Texas.
Arnold worked as a cab driver in the Dallas area and then worked for many years as an OTR truck driver. When not driving, he loved to fish.
He is survived by his children, Arnold Harris, Jr., Patsy Genece Harris Sutton, Joy Whitlock, Dewayne Guin, Sonja Guin and Doc Guin; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and his former spouse, Katherine Amon. Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his wife, Clara Ann Harris.

Funeral service for Arnold will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10:00 am at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater, with Bro. Lane Brown officiating and Arnold’s grandsons serving as pallbearers. A visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm. Interment will follow the services in Gladewater Memorial Park Cemetery.
