Antoinette "Toni" Parkerson

GLADEWATER – Funeral service for Antoinette “Toni” Parkerson, 81, of Gladewater will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Clarksville Baptist Church of Gladewater with Bro. Roger Gage officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home of Gladewater. Mrs. Parkerson completed her earthly journey on Saturday, February 10, 2018.

Toni was born in Houston, TX on October 21, 1936 to Harvey Antoine and Loucile (Jeanes) Smith. She was raised in the Longview/Greggton area and attended the Pine Tree Schools. Toni met and married Melvin L. Parkerson, Sr. in June of 1954. They moved to the Gladewater area in June of 1965. Loving daughter, devoted wife and mother, she also worked as a cosmetologist for many years, all the while raising up and guiding five children. Toni was a long time member of Clarksville City Baptist Church of Gladewater.

Toni is survived by her husband, Melvin Parkerson; children, Deborah Weston and husband, Wayne, Melvin L. Parkerson, Jr. and wife, Becky, Leonard R. Parkerson and wife, Judy, Valerie Hamlin and husband, Mark and Karen Foster and husband, Larry. She has 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters, Mary Maude Andrews, Jo Ann Burns and Lila Fay Fisher; and brother, Robert J. Smith.

Preceding her in death are her parents, a brother, Harvey A. Smith, Jr. and two sisters, Lou Evelyn Howell and Rosalea Sapp.

The family expresses their warmest thanks to the many family and friends for their support and prayers, Heartsway Hospice, and the Visiting Angels for their support and care.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Clarksville City Baptist Church in Gladewater.
