GILMER – Funeral services for Alva Cleo Snow, 92, of Pritchett will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 29, 2017, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Mr. Jack Wilkie officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Upshur County. Mrs. Snow passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 in a Gilmer nursing home.

Mrs. Snow was born July 15, 1924, in Upshur County to Richard Dave and Mary Alice Mathis Roberts. She retired after 39 years as a clerk with the Upshur County Health Department, a lifetime resident of Upshur County and a member of the Pritchett Church of Christ. Her life was a living example of the two greatest commandments, Love God and Love Your Fellow Man. Even her last years in the nursing home she had a tremendous influence on the residence and staff.

She is survived by her son, Joe Dell Snow and wife, Patti of White Oak; daughters, Edna Thompson and husband, Joe of Houston and Hilma Ferguson and husband Billy Joe of Diana; brothers, David Roberts and wife, Carol of Santa Fe, NM and James Roberts and wife, Wanda of Pritchett; sister, Beth Foshee of Garrison; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Snow was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Snow in 1985; son, Charles Snow and daughter-in-law, Doris Snow and brother-in-law, Jack Foshee.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
