Allen R. Pier, Jr. DIANA �Allen R. Pier Jr. was born December 13, 1935 in Marshall TX to his parents Allen R. Pier Sr. and Willie Mae Brewster Pier. He passed away January 24, 2013. Allen grew up in Houston and attended Texas A&M University and the University of Houston. In 1958 he married his best friend, Marguerite �Margie�� Ann Stewart from Galveston, TX. They were blessed with 3 children (Denise, Allen & Tracey). While in Houston, Allen worked construction and owned his own businesses. To ensure that Allen could provide an exceptional life for his family after Houston, he spent most of his work career supervising various construction projects with major US construction firms and oil companies within the USA and overseas offshore projects in the United Kingdom, South East Asia and Egypt. Upon his retirement, Allen and �Margie� moved home to Diana, TX. Allen was a member of the Ashland Masonic Lodge #1138 and a very proud Charter Member and fifth Master of the Little Cypress Masonic Lodge #1459. He was also a member of the Sharon Shiner Temple, where for many years he enjoyed riding with the Mustang Unit. Allen was very proud to be able to represent the Little Cypress Masonic Lodge in their �Take Time to Read� initiative. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marguerite �Margie� Pier. His children, Denise Renee Pier Tomme of Diana, TX, Allen Stewart Pier of Baytown, TX, Tracey Pier Dausin and son in law Randall Dausin of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX. Grandchildren, Chelsea Pier and Lacie Pier of Baytown, TX. His sister, Ann Pier Baker of Huntsville TX. Sister in law and brother in law Ann and Tommy Stewart of Santa Fe, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Robert C. Pier and sister in law, Eleanor �BooBoo� Stewart Colburn. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life at 1:00 pm, Saturday February 2, 2013 at the Harleton United Methodist Church. Pastor Joe Turner and Reverend Mike Brittain will be officiating. A Masonic Service will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Honorary pallbearers: Jeff Beall, Johnny Braley, Leland Crowley, Bob Denning, Stevie Joe Jones, Larry Stewart, Ronnie Wall, and Jason Weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Little Cypress Masonic Lodge Building Fund, P.O Box 592, Harleton, TX 75651 or the Beacon Hospice in Longview TX.
