Services for Alice Hall Pace will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2017, at Hollybrook Baptist Church with Rev. Don Whisenhunt officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins on Sunday, February 26, from 5 PM to 7 PM.
Alice was born September 16, 1937in Upshur County, TX, to Hillary Otis and Odor Hall of the Rosewood Community. She served as the 1956 Harmony Football Queen. Alice was retired from the City of Hawkins as secretary. She also served as Tax Assessor and Collector for Hawkins ISD for many years. Being a strong woman, she re-attended college in her mid-life, receiving a business degree. Alice passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017, at home with her family by her side.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband, George Pace in 1989, parents, and two brothers, Kenneth and Johnny all of Hawkins.
She is survived by one son, Phillip Pace of Hawkins; sisters, Altha Haba of Jacksonville, Nona Haba of Houston, Audrey Fredrickson of Houston, Gracie Dowden of Louisiana; and one brother, Charlie Hall of Austin.
Many thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice; her companion and soul mate, Dale McQuaid of Hawkins, her life sustainer; and caregivers, Michelle Marsh and daughter, Donnalee of Winnsboro. No words can express the grief of losing her.
