Albert George Wood Jr.

George resided most of his life in Kilgore, Tx. He worked many years in the oilfield and as a truck driver. He will be missed by his friends and family. He is survived by his children Missy Lewis of Kilgore, Angela Morris of Gilmer, Charlotte Contreras of Tyler and Sherry Tipton of Longview. His grandchildren, Amber Culpepper, Adam Culpepper, Justin Culpepper, Noah Tipton, Owen Tipton, CJ Whatley, Morgan Whatley, Maggie Morris, Emily Morris and Mason Morris. Great grandchildren Ethan Culpepper, Jace Whatley and Loretta Whatley. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews including Lester and Tammy Fletcher of Kilgore.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Nash Wood, his parents George Sr and Lillie Wood, his brothers and sisters Louise Powell, Adele VanMeter, Eddie “Bud” Wood and James “Jim” Wood.

A memorial service officiated by Craig Nash will be held on Monday March 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Kilgore Church of the Nazarene.   In lieu of flowers please send a donation to Grace Baptist Church food pantry.
