Addie Mae Brown

Memorial graveside service for Ms. Mae Brown, 81, of Big Sandy will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Chilton Cemetery with Bro. Sonny Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at Chilton Cemetery.

Ms. Brown was born on May 10, 1938, to Frank and Lizzie Hanson Whitlock in Gladewater. She passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in Tyler. Mae, a lifetime resident of Upshur County, owned and operated a commercial cleaning business. In 2007 she was Big Sandy’s Woman of the Year and was also a board member of the Big Sandy Museum Association. Ms. Brown was a Godly woman and loved to be a caregiver to many.

Ms. Brown is survived by her son Carl Frank of Palestine; step son, Jerry Brown and his wife, Beth of Rison, AR; brothers, Alton Whitlock and his wife, Juanita, Lonnie Whitlock and his wife Sheila all of Big Sandy, and Billy Whitlock and his wife, Barbara of Flint; sister, Elizebeth McClendon and her husband, Richard of Arp; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
