Funeral services for Aciano Escalante, 71, of Gilmer will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2012, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Brother Pete Dugger officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Escalante passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012 in a Gilmer nursing home. Mr. Escalante was born September 6, 1940, in Monterrey, Mexico to Aniceto and Isabel Nino Escalante. He was self-employed and had lived in Gilmer for 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Lana Escalante; children, Aciano Escalante, Jennifer Melton, Edward Escalante, Margaret Escalante, Thomas Escalante and Brandon Escalante; step-son, Richard; step-daughter, Dawn; brothers, Pablo Escalante, Juan Escalante, Cipriano Escalante, Guadalupe Escalante and Gabe Escalante; sisters, Juanita, Escalante, Bertha Escalante, Francisca Escalante and Maria Escalante; grandchildren, Madyson, Mason, Grace, Layla, Edward, Breanna, Isabel, Jasmine, Jayden and Jordan. Pallbearers will be Edward Escalante, Thomas Escalante, Aciano Escalante, Brandon Escalante, Donnie Melton and Lulo Garcia.
