Linda Laverne Gatlin

Mrs. Linda Gatlin, 76, of Hawkins, passed away on Friday July 5, 2019 at her home.
Born to W.J. and Dorothy Dicken, of Farmersville, Linda was a retired special education teacher with a Master of Education degree from UT Tyler. She was a life-long learner, an avid reader and talented writer who passed this love to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed geneology research, ceramics, sewing, and needlecrafts. And she loved spending time with her family.
Linda, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother was preceded in death by her eldest grandson, Jacob Gatlin, in 2012, and by her husband of 53 years, Howard Gatlin, in 2014. She is survived by her son, Mitchell Gatlin of Cookeville; two daughters, Christine Gatlin and Holly Gatlin, of the greater Dallas area; two grandchildren, Danielle Eitson and Paxton Gatlin; and four great-grandchildren, Ronnie, Abigail, Mason, and Tobias; as well as siblings Stanley Huggins, Karen Bogue, and Sharon Hix.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 9, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins. A graveside service and interment will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
